Game Rats
Game Rats was a London-based games community and event series founded by a group of five friends working across game development, writing and education. What began as informal monthly meet-ups developed into public events built around short talks, discussion and socialising, with the aim of creating a friendly and inclusive space for people working in or interested in games.
I was one of the co-organisers, helping plan and run events, develop themes and speakers, and support the wider organisation of the group. The format typically combined three short talks on a shared theme with time afterwards for attendees and speakers to meet and discuss games more informally. Our first official event in 2018 sold out all 50 tickets.
The project gave me experience in community building, event production and creating spaces for discussion around game design, development and culture.
Off The Page: Chapter Two
In collaboration with the British Library, Game Rats helped organise Off The Page: Chapter Two, a London Games Festival fringe event exploring the relationship between literature and games through an afternoon of talks.
